Reflecting on 2020

Wow what a year it has been – from starting my Senior year in high school to applying to one and only college – to graduating in a pandemic (deep breath). I was so excited for my Senior year. I was looking forward to my Senior dinner, my school trip to Germany with my friends, Senior Prom, and Graduating! 2020 was a year! I called my sister in Christ in July crying and so angry at God: why our class? I was born 2 months before September 11, 2001 and I am graduating in a pandemic and asking God why. What did I do to deserve this? She said “Listen, we are God’s Children. He is our father and when our parents are mad at us they put us in time-out and we needed this time-out.” I felt soo much better when she told me this. God doesn’t leave us – yes 2020 was a hard year, but it wasn’t soo bad. I spent soo much time in Maine – it’s my favorite place. Remember, God is our strength and He will never leave us! I never thought I would start my freshman year of college in a pandemic.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
