Friday Q&A: Anchors, Jesus, and coffee

Happy Friday, my friends! All of the days are looking the same and I am just 3 weeks from starting spring semester of college it’s crazy to think freshman year will be in the books very soon. 1. Whats with the anchor⚓️?

I always get this question why do you have an anchor ring, bracelet, earrings, canvas in your bathroom. If you know me you know family is super important to me and that I’m very close to my family. My Poppy who lived with us we were each others ying and yang we were two peas in a pod. He died when I was in 5th grade and we were very close. He use to race sailboats and after he died I kept finding anchors and every time I see an anchor I get really excited.

2. Whats your favorite Bible Verse?

My favorite bible verse that has turned into my thing is Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” I translate this to always more meaning there is ALWAYS MORE: love to give, more time to give, more compassion to give. I started taking a sharpie to my hand every time I go to the gym it doesn’t matter how tired or stress I am there is ALWAYS MORE reps, sets or even squats to do.

3. What have you been watching on Netflix?

I have been watching a lot of crime shows, I just started watching friends and I love the show. I have not yet seen stranger things only the first episode. I watched 17 again on Netflix which was funny. If you have any shows or movies that you think I need to binge leave a reply on this page.

4. What was the biggest moment in life that shaped me?

This is a really interesting question a lot has happened in my life but I think the biggest moment in my life that shaped me was for my 18th birthday I went Skydiving and that was probably the biggest thing that shaped me because it showed me that if I’m scared or nervous about something I can take a step back and say I went skydiving if I did that I can do anything and thats kind of been my mentality.

5. What is your life Motto?

My life Motto is WAKE UP KICK ASS BE KIND REPEAT. Its the lock screen of my phone and its my reminder for everything that I’m gonna kick ass in school, gym, any goals I have and I’m gonna be kind about it and everything I do I will have a smile on my face.

6. Who do you look up-to?

I look up-to a lot of people but the two people I look up-to is my Mom & Memere because they have been there for everything, relationships, exes, surgeries, and life. I can’t imagine my life without them and everything they do they do for me and they support my dreams and I can’t imagine doing life without them. I will call my Memere walking to and from class and I will call her for advice. She is my ride or die. I love you both very much.

7. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?

Thats a tough question I would say Maine, Charleston South Carolina or Tennessee. Maybe one day I’ll move down there my cousins and my mentor both live in Tennessee I would love to visit one day.

8. Whats your go-to Coffee order?

It really depends on if I want iced or hot and if its from Starbucks or Dunkin or a local coffee shop. If its from Dunkin it’s either going to be a medium iced caramel swirl light and sweet with milk or cream depending on my mood. If I want hot it’s gonna be a medium vanilla latte. From Starbucks there is gonna be three 1. Venti Pink drink 2. Venti iced Matcha latte with coconut milk or a hot grande chai tea latte with cinnamon dolce syrup. If im going to local coffee shop its either gonna be a chai tea latte or iced of some-sort.

9. What’s your favorite sports team?

Growing up sports was always a big thing in our house every Sunday we would watch football. I would go to basketball games at UCONN and at UHART. I would go Hartford Wolfpack games for hockey and Hartford Yard goats for baseball. I’m New England all the way from the Patriots, to the Red Sox and the Bruins. However I will say this and I’m embarrassed to say this I have not be watching my Patriots but I did see the Bruins win last night.

10. How can I make Matcha at home?

I love this question if you know me you know I love saving money and making coffee at home either iced or hot or even Matcha. If you love Matcha you can order this one here or this one off of amazon . I love cold brew coffee and this cold brew maker is the best you can order it from Amazon here. Another thing you need to have (but its ok if you don’t) is a frother I love having a frother its so easy from hot chocolate to matcha or for milk. You can get this one from Amazon or target has this one you can get. Before I had a frother and I still use this method I take between 1 and 1/2 tablespoon and add 1 or 2 tablespoon of water and put it in the blender and blend it for 30 seconds and take 2 tablespoons of sugar and fill the glass with either vanilla almond milk or coconut milk I personally like the sweetness with the matcha but you can use regular milk.
