New School Year = New Beginnings

Happy back to school and happy fall even though its technically not fall yet I always put back to school as the beginning of fall! Today is the first day of sophomore year of college I finished my classes for the day and the first day is already in the books.

I want to talk about the start of a new school year whether your starting first day of high school, college or a new job or you’re heading back to school this applies to you. Set goals for yourself whether you struggle in math and you say I will strive for a B but I would like to get an A write it down where you see it everyday and repeat it to yourself.

After being gone for almost 3 months I have been thinking of what goals I want to set not only personal but work related too both with GFG and being an accountability coach as well.

I’ve talked about this before and I will continue to talk about it I’ve struggled with food, eating working out the whole 9 yards I would set goals fall off and it would be this vicious cycle I will sit here and be honest of what happened. Being in college doesn’t help either but working out and eating right makes a difference. After a whole year of college under my belt I have realized what I need to do to help me complete my goals for this semester.

A lot of you have asked me how I handled being away with my food and i’ll be honest it was not easy in some aspects I failed myself. I am taking this semester to get myself back and I have set goals and planning of what’s gonna happen.

When I was gone for work there was food everywhere everyday we had cookie line, treats, desserts, candy, donuts on the weekends, I would drink at least 3 cups of coffee a day with cream and sugar and I let “myself go” as they would say I didn’t realize what was happening until I got home! This was the first time in a long time I had 3 straight meals a day and I didn’t know what to do. I feel like I failed myself as I am writing this but that doesn’t mean I can’t do anything about it.

My goal for this semester is too:

  • Go back to the gym have a scheduled workout set a timer for myself for 30 minutes and plan each rep.
  • Do intermittent fasting I will explain this more later this week.
  • Eat right but don’t confined myself of only eating good “cheat meals are allowed once a week”
  • Journal/keep track of how I’m feeling, what I’ve noticed, any changes etc…
  • Remind myself this is not punishment, this is rewarding because of my goal
  • Don’t take comments personally
  • Go on a 30 minute walk 4 nights of the week
  • TURN MY PHONE OFF at 10 pm ( this is a big one)

I want to show that if I can do it you can DO IT! I will do Instagram lives to talk about food, working out, what it’s like to be an accountability coach and how you can do it. I want to assure you that YOU CAN DO THIS!!

2 Chronicles 15:7 - “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded"

This is one of my favorite bible verses because when you are striving for a goal you have to be strong. There will be days where we will make excuses for ourselves however we need to remind ourselves we can’t give up or we will not achieve our goals.
